Drive Pin Punch — 5/8"
Hardened steel punch used to remove the locking taper pin from a Kenter shackle during disassembly. Used in conjunction with a sledgehammer, applied to the small end of the taper pin — the opposite side from where the lead plug goes. Overall length: 13".

Applications
- Removing the locking taper pin from Kenter shackles for disassembly
- Chain maintenance and repair operations
Instructions
- Remove the lead plug first — melt with a propane or acetylene torch, or drill it out.
- Position the punch on the small end of the taper pin.
- Strike firmly with a sledgehammer to drive the pin out.
- Do not attempt without removing the lead plug first.
Safety Warnings
- Use appropriate PPE: safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots.
- Ensure secure footing before striking.
- Never strike while chain is under load.
- Lead plug must be removed before use — do not attempt to punch through a seated plug.
- Use the correct punch size for the kenter diameter — contact us for punches larger than 5/8".
