What a master link is
The oblong ring at the top of a chain sling. Everything below it — the legs, the hooks, the connectors — hangs off this one part, and the crane hook goes through it. E is the inside length, F the inside width, D the diameter of the steel it is forged from.

Page 82 has these two tables the wrong way round
Worth knowing if you are working from an original copy of the catalogue, or from anyone else reprinting it: the single leg and double leg headings on page 82 are transposed. We publish them here the right way round.
The arithmetic is what gives it away. Take the two ladders as printed and compare them with the chain connector table on the same page:
- The ladder printed as double leg has working load limits identical, size for size, to the chain connector — that is, to the straight-line working load limit of the chain itself. 6-8 is 1 120 kg in both. 26-8 is 20 000 kg in both. Every shared size matches exactly. A straight pull on one chain is a single leg sling.
- The ladder printed as single leg runs about 1.4× those figures up to 28-8, and about 1.25× from 32-8 up. 1.4 is the standard mode factor for a two-leg sling at up to 45°, under EN 818-4 and ASME B30.9.
So the 091-1357 ladder is the single leg one and the 091-1188 ladder is the double leg one, which is how they are listed on this site. Part numbers are unchanged — only the heading moves.
Separately, three pairs share identical E, F, D and weight while carrying different working load limits — 26-8 and 28-8 on the double leg ladder, and 20-8/22-8 and 26-8/28-8 on the single leg one. That is one physical link listed at two ratings. Left exactly as the catalogue prints it.
