56 mm x 40 m 12-Strand Polyester Grommet Stretcher

12-strand grommet in Polyester, 56 mm diameter, 40 m overall, spliced and ready to rig.

Built from two parts to an overall length of 40 m, lashed to form a 1.0 m (3 ft) chafe-covered eye at each end and lashed every two metres along its length.

What it does

A stretcher is the elastic element in the tow. A low-stretch main towline passes shock loading straight through to the gear and the hull; the stretcher is the piece that absorbs it.

It is rigged in line with the towline and is the component that should be inspected most often, because it is the one doing the absorbing.

Made to order and spliced to the configuration above. Diameter, length, eye size and where the chafe guard sits can all be changed — tell us the rig and we will build to it.

Breaking loads, and any test or certification requirement, are quoted on request against the finished assembly. No test certificate is supplied with a standard order.
