Helipebs — Hollow Centre Coiled Grinding Media

Fine grinding media made from round or square section steel wire coiled spirally, then specially hardened for maximum resistance to abrasion. For many years the considered choice of the expert in fine cement production.

What the hollow centre does

• Lower bulk weight. The hollow centre lets the mill be charged to a working level of 40% — more media in the mill for the same load, which is greater efficiency for less power consumed.
• More abrasive area. Material is carried through the hollow centres and redistributed among the media, so the grinding surfaces stay in continuous contact with the charge and grind it more evenly, in less time.
• Reported results. Users have measured output increased by as much as 50%, with improved fineness of the finished product.

Sizes

Helipebs are coiled to the mill's requirement, so weight and piece count depend on the wire section and pitch as well as the nominal size. Both are confirmed at quotation rather than taken from a table.

A note on cost

Helipebs are not cheap, and we would not pretend otherwise — you would not expect to buy a pedigree article at bargain prices. The case for them is that the initial cost is repaid in better results. If your duty is coarse grinding, ordinary steel balls will serve you better and cost less; helipebs earn their price in fine work.
